Brakes Drag

  1. Were you sent here from a Symptom Test? If so, go to next step. If not, go to GENERAL DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the drum brake system, if equipped, for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the park brake system for proper operation. See PARK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not go to GENERAL DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2. If not, then the system should be okay.
