Proportioning Valve: Removal

NOTE:
There are 2 flare type designs used on this vehicle. They are the ISO flare and double inverted flare. DO NOT mis-match flare types. If flare types are mis-matched, damage to pipes, components, and/or a brake fluid leak may occur.
- Without disconnecting electrical connectors, remove Transaxle Control Module (TCM) from bracket and position aside on top of engine. Place a shop towel under proportioning valve assembly to catch any brake fluid loss.
- Disconnect caliper and wheel cylinder brake pipes from proportioning valve assembly. Cap or plug brake pipe ends to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Disconnect master cylinder brake pipes from proportioning valve assembly.
- Cap or plug brake pipe ends to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. If proportioning valve is to be reused, plug ports to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove proportioning valve mounting bolts. DO NOT exert excessive force on brake pipes. Remove proportioning valve from vehicle while carefully repositioning brake pipes.
