Proportioning Valve: Installation

  1. Install proportioning valve assembly to vehicle. Install and tighten proportioning valve assembly bracket mounting bolts.
  2. Remove plugs from proportioning valve assembly ports. Remove caps or plugs from master cylinder brake pipe ends. Connect master cylinder brake pipes to proportioning valve assembly. Tighten brake pipe fittings at proportioning valve assembly to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove caps or plugs from caliper and wheel cylinder brake pipe ends. Connect caliper and wheel cylinder brake pipes to proportioning valve assembly. Tighten brake pipe fittings at proportioning valve assembly.
  4. Bleed hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  . Remove and discard shop towel into an approved container.
