Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the park brake cable grommet to the floor pan. Install the park brake lever and cable assembly to the mounting studs. See Figure .
  2. Install the park brake lever assembly attaching nuts and tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the park brake warning lamp switch. Install the carpet.
  4. Raise the vehicle. Connect the front park brake cable (3) to the park brake cable connector (1) on the Intermediate park brake cable (2). See Figure . Lower the vehicle.
  5. To set tension in the park brake cable system, twist and pull down on the tension release pin (1) to remove. See Fig 1 . Apply the park brake pedal 3 full cycles to complete the tension set. Install the left carpet retainer. Install the left sound insulator panel.
