Exhaust Manifold: Installation

  1. Install exhaust manifold gasket to cylinder head. See Figure. Install bolt for oil level indicator tube bracket. Install exhaust manifold. Install and tighten exhaust manifold bolts/nuts in sequence. See Figure.
  2. Install exhaust manifold heat shield. Install exhaust manifold heat shield bolts. Install exhaust pipe gasket. Align tab on gasket to face outward. Install exhaust pipe bolts.
  3. Install wheelhouse panel. Install front tire and wheel, if necessary. Lower vehicle.


  1. Install exhaust manifold with gasket. Install and tighten exhaust manifold bolts/nuts in sequence. See Fig 2
  2. Install exhaust manifold heat shield. Install exhaust manifold heat shield bolts. Install exhaust pipe gasket. Align tab on gasket to face outward. Install exhaust pipe and bolts to exhaust manifold.
  3. Raise vehicle. Install exhaust pipe heat shield bolts. Install charged air cooler outlet duct.
  4. Install wheelhouse panel. Install front tire and wheel. Lower vehicle.
