Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Install scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, verify PCM is programed with correct VIN. If VIN is not correct, go to next step. If VIN is correct, go to step  4.
  3. Using scan tool, reprogram PCM with correct VIN. Go to step  7.
  4. If BCM was replaced, go to next step. If BCM was not replaced, go to step  6.
  5. Using scan tool, program BCM with proper Regular Production Option (RPO) configuration. Go to step  7.
  6. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  7. Reconnect all SIR components. Ensure all components are properly mounted. Using scan tool, erase DTC's. Road test vehicle. Check for DTC's. If DTC is retrieved, go to step  2. If DTC is not retrieved, system is okay. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
