Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Install a scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear all SIR and PPS DTC's. Rezero PPS. See PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM REZEROING PROCEDURE . Road test vehicle. If DTC resets, go to next step. If DTC does not reset, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  3. Replace PPS. See PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM (PPS)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all SIR and PPS components. Verify all components and connectors are properly mounted and connected. Using scan tool, clear all DTC's. Rezero PPS. See PASSENGER PRESENCE SYSTEM REZEROING PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Road test vehicle. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
