Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
    NOTE: Use Digital Multimeter (J-39200) and Flat WIre Probe Adapter Kit (J-42675) when performing electrical tests.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect SDM connector. Measure resistance of diagnostic request circuit between SDM connector terminal No. 19 (Pink/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than infinite, repair short to ground in diagnostic request circuit. If resistance is infinite, go to next step.
  3. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Road test vehicle. If condition is corrected, system is okay. If condition is not corrected, go to step  2.
