Removal (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

  1. Loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. See Figure. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine.
  2. Push retaining tab inward while pulling up on EVAP canister purge solenoid pipe connection to disconnect EVAP canister purge solenoid pipe from EVAP canister purge solenoid. See Fig 1. EVAP canister purge solenoid is located near top right front of engine. See Figure.
  3. Disconnect EVAP canister purge solenoid harness connector. Remove EVAP canister purge solenoid retaining bolt. See Fig 2. Remove EVAP canister purge solenoid and isolator from intake manifold.
