Removal & Installation (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

  1. Loosen retaining bolt on intake manifold sight shield at top of engine. See Figure. Remove intake manifold sight shield from top of engine. Remove intake manifold sight shield retainer bolts. Unclip accelerator cable from intake manifold sight shield retainer. Remove intake manifold sight shield retainer.
  2. Disconnect Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor harness connector. See Figure. Remove MAP sensor from intake manifold. To install, coat MAP sensor seal with clean engine oil. Replace MAP sensor seal as necessary.
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
