Removal (3.8L - VIN 1)

  1. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Partially drain the cooling system. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector. See Figure. Disconnect the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Remove the accelerator controls cable bracket. Remove the vacuum line from the throttle body. Remove the nut from the air injection pipe, if applicable. Remove the throttle body nuts. Remove the throttle body assembly. Clean the throttle body gasket mating surfaces.
