Removal & Installation

CAUTION:
Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
NOTE:
Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in illustration.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the fender brace mounting bolts (1). See Fig 1. Remove the fender brace.
- Remove the FICM hold-down screws (2) from the mounting bracket. Remove the connector position assurance lock and disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the FICM. Remove the FICM mounting bracket bolts (4). Remove the FICM mounting bracket nut (5) from the horn mounting stud. Remove the FICM mounting bracket from the vehicle.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
