Low Pressure Lock-Off Solenoid: Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  under FUEL SYSTEMS. Disconnect the negative battery cable(s).
  2. Disconnect the Low Pressure Lock-Off (LPL) solenoid electrical connector. Disconnect the fuel inlet line from the LPL fitting. Remove the Intermediate Pressure Regulator (IPR) fuel outlet line hold-down nut. See Fig 1 . Remove the fuel outlet line hold down. Disconnect the IPR fuel outlet lines from the IPR.
  3. Remove the IPR/LPL bracket nuts. See Fig 2 . Remove the IPR/LPL assembly from the vehicle. Remove the bolts that retain the IPR/LPL assembly to the bracket. While holding the line union rotate and remove the IPR or the LPL as required. See Fig 3 .
