Section 445 (Engine Controls - Removal & Installation - BIFUEL & CNG): Introduction

CAUTION: When battery and some PCM input devices are disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Vehicles are available with optional 6.0L (RPO LQ4) in either bi-fuel Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) system (RPO KL6) or a dedicated CNG system (RPO KL8). All 6.0L engines are identified by Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) "U". The fuel control system on these engines is separate from the gasoline fuel system and has unique parts. This article only covers removal and installation procedures for CNG components on bi-fuel vehicles.
