Removal (5.3L)

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Drain the cooling system below the level of the ECT sensor.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector (1). See Figure.
  6. Remove the ECT sensor. See Figure.
