Removal (5.3L)

- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Drain the cooling system below the level of the ECT sensor.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector (1). See Figure.
- Remove the ECT sensor. See Figure.
