Removal & Installation (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Savana Special, 2003 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2003 GMC Savana, 2003 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, and 2003 Chevrolet Cutaway. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Push the Evaporative (EVAP) emission pipe quick connect fitting retainer inward. See Fig 1. Disconnect the EVAP pipe (1) from the EVAP purge solenoid (2). See Fig 2. Disconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid mount bolt (1). See Fig 3. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid (2) and the insulator (3) from the engine. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
