Removal & Installation (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L)

Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (EGR VALVE - 4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L) . Remove the EGR pipe to intake manifold fasteners (1) and discard "O" ring. See Fig 1. Remove the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold fasteners (2) and discard gasket. Remove the EGR pipe mounting fasteners from the right cylinder head (3). Remove the EGR pipe (4). To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW "O" ring and gasket. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
