Removal (2.2L)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  2. Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors. Disconnect fuel feed line at fuel rail. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
  3. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts. Remove fuel rail from cylinder head. Remove fuel injector retaining clip(s). See Fig 1. Remove fuel injector(s) from fuel rail. Remove fuel injector "O" rings and discard.
