Removal & Installation (2.2L)

NOTE: Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in illustration.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner outlet resonator mounting screw (1). See Fig 1. Disconnect air cleaner outlet resonator clamp at throttle body.
  2. Remove air cleaner outlet duct from air cleaner outlet resonator. Disconnect power brake booster vacuum hose at throttle body. Disconnect crankcase vent hose clamp and crankcase vent hose from top of engine. Remove air cleaner outlet resonator (2). See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect IAC valve and TP sensor harness connectors from throttle body. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 .
  4. Disconnect vacuum hose from throttle body (1). See Fig 4. Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cables from throttle body (2). See Fig 5. Remove accelerator and cruise control cable bracket. (1)
  5. Remove throttle body retaining bolts (2). See Fig 4. Remove throttle body from intake manifold. Remove flange gasket and discard.
