Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the timing chain. Refer to Timing Chain and Sprockets Replacement .
  2. Remove the camshaft position actuator from the camshaft.

  3. Remove the intake camshaft bearing cap bolts in sequence. Starting at the ends and working toward the center of the camshaft.

  4. Remove the front camshaft bearing cap (5).
  5. Remove the intake camshaft from the cylinder head.
