Camshaft Installation - Exhaust

Install the intake camshaft onto the cylinder head with the number 1 cam lobes facing as shown.
Important: Each bearing cap has a number and a directional arrow marked on the bearing cap.
Install the camshaft bearing caps in their proper locations with the arrows facing forward.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
Install the camshaft bearing cap bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown to 19 N.m (14 Ib. ft).

Install the camshaft timing gear and camshaft bearing cap.
Tighten

Tighten the camshaft timing gear and bearing cap bolts to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
Install the exhaust camshaft sprocket to the camshaft.
Install the exhaust camshaft sprocket bolt to the camshaft.
Tighten

Tighten the cam sprocket bolt to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).
