Valve Lifter Replacement: Installation

NOTE: If a new camshaft is installed, replace all valve lifters.
  1. Coat the valve lifter rollers with Lubricant (12345501).
  2. Install valve lifters.
  3. Install valve lifter guides over the flats on valve lifters, making sure rollers of the valve lifters are properly aligned with camshaft lobes.
  4. Install valve lifter guide retainer.
  5. Install valve lifter guide retainer bolts. Tighten valve lifter guide retainer bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install valve rocker arms and push rods. See VALVE ROCKER ARM & PUSH ROD . Install intake manifold, see INTAKE MANIFOLD .
