Oil Pan: Removal

- On 4WD models, remove front differential. See appropriate DIFFERENTIALS article in DRIVE AXLES.
- On all models, remove starter motor.
- Remove oil pan skid plate bolts then the oil pan skid plate.
- Remove crossbar.
- Drain engine oil and remove oil level indicator.
- Disconnect oil level sensor electrical connector. See Figure.
- Remove engine harness clip from oil pan.
- Remove oil level sensor from oil pan.
- Remove battery cable channel bolt.
- Remove and reposition battery cable channel.
- Remove oil pan bolts, oil pan and gasket.
