Exhaust Manifold Pipe: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove oil pan skid plate bolts and plate, if necessary.
  3. Support transmission with a transmission jack.
  4. Remove transmission mount-to-transmission support nuts.
  5. Raise transmission off of the transmission support.
  6. Remove transmission support crossmember bolts.
  7. Remove transmission support crossmember.
  8. Remove muffler. See MUFFLER REPLACEMENT .
  9. Remove clip around engine harness and oxygen sensor pigtail.
  10. Disconnect the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer.
  11. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
  12. Remove oxygen sensor.
  13. Remove exhaust manifold pipe.
  14. Slide exhaust manifold pipe hanger out of the exhaust pipe hanger bracket.
  15. Discard exhaust manifold pipe seal.
