Engine Mounts: Removal

  1. On 2WD models, raise vehicle to a height to work through the front wheelhouse opening.
  2. On 4WD models, raise vehicle and remove front wheels.
  3. On all models, remove the left or right front wheel.
  4. Remove wheelhouse inner panel push pin retainers.
  5. Remove wheelhouse inner panel.
  6. Working through the wheelhouse opening, remove engine mount heat shield bolts.
  7. Remove engine mount heat shield.
  8. Remove engine mount-to-engine mount bracket bolt.
  9. Remove oil pan skid plate bolts and plate (if equipped).
  10. Remove engine shield bolts and shield.
  11. NOTE: When raising or supporting engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or crankshaft pulley. Due to the small clearance between the oil pan and oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result in a damaged oil pickup unit.
  12. Raise engine with a suitable jack in order to remove the engine mount and bracket.
  13. Remove engine mount-to-engine bolts.
  14. Remove engine mount.
  15. Remove engine mount bracket through-bolts.
  16. Remove engine mount bracket.
