Cylinder Head (Left Side): Removal

  1. Drain cooling system.
  2. Remove intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  3. Remove valve rocker arms and push rods. See VALVE ROCKER ARM & PUSH ROD .
  4. Remove engine harness ground bolts.
  5. Reposition engine harness grounds and ground strap from cylinder head.
  6. Remove water crossover.
  7. Remove exhaust manifold. See EXHAUST MANIFOLD (LEFT & RIGHT SIDE) .
  8. Remove and discard cylinder head bolts.
  9. Remove cylinder head.
  10. Remove and discard cylinder head gasket.
  11. Clean and inspect cylinder head. See CYLINDER HEAD  under OVERHAUL.
