Crankshaft Balancer: Installation

  1. Install the balancer onto the end of the crankshaft.
  2. Install the Crankshaft Balancer Installer (J-42845) to the crankshaft balancer.
  3. Using the crankshaft balancer installer, install the balancer. See Fig 1.
  4. Tighten crankshaft balancer installer until crankshaft balancer is completely seated against the crankshaft sprocket.
  5. Remove crankshaft balancer installer from crankshaft. See Fig 1.
  6. Install crankshaft bolt and washer to crankshaft. Tighten crankshaft balancer bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Remove flywheel holding tool.
  8. Install starter motor.
  9. Install cooling fan.
  10. Install A/C belt.
