Cleaning & Inspection

- Clean intake manifold in an approved solvent. Clean debris out of all bolt holes. Clean intake manifold gasket sealing surfaces. Clean all carbon from EGR passages. Clean all intake manifold ports.
- Dry intake manifold with compressed air.
- Inspect intake manifold bolt holes for cracks and/or damage, MAP sensor sealing surface for damage, purge solenoid sealing surface for damage, or purge solenoid bolt has a sealer that may come off during removal of bolt. Ensure all sealant is removed from the bolt hole. Check intake manifold-to-cylinder head sealing surfaces for damage, EGR adapter mounting surface for damage, and throttle body studs for damage. Replace as necessary. Check throttle body mounting surface for damage, or oil fill tube hole for signs of leakage. Reseal as necessary. Check PCV port for debris or varnish buildup and EGR pipe for damage.
