- Inspect bearings for craters or pockets. Flattened sections on bearing halves also indicate fatigue.
- Inspect bearings for excessive scoring or discoloration.
- Inspect bearings for dirt or debris embedded into bearing material.
- Inspect bearings for improper seating indicated by bright, polished sections of the bearings.
