Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Right

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the ignition coils from the valve rocker arm cover unless required.

Do not remove the oil fill tube from the cover unless service is required.

If the oil fill tube has been removed from the cover, install a NEW tube during assembly.

  1. Remove the ignition coil bracket bolts from the rocker arm cover, if required.
  2. Remove the ignition coil and bracket assembly from the cover.

  3. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.

  5. Remove the gasket (1) from the cover.
  6. Discard the gasket.

    The bolt grommets may be reused if not damaged.

  7. Remove the oil fill cap from the oil fill tube.
  8. Remove the oil fill tube, if required.
  9. Discard the oil fill tube.
