Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Diagnosis

- External Oil Leak - Check for plugged Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve, plugged or kinked PCV hoses, damaged or incorrectly installed PCV valve or PCV valve "O" ring, hoses or excessive crankcase pressure.
- Rough Idle - Check for plugged PCV valve, plugged or kinked PCV hoses, leaking or damaged PCV valve or hoses.
- Stalling Or Slow Idle Speed - Check for plugged PCV valve, plugged or kinked PCV hoses, or leaking or damaged PCV valve or hoses.
- High Idle Speed - Check for a leaking or damaged PCV valve or hoses.
- Sludge In The Engine - Check for plugged PCV valve or plugged or kinked PCV hoses.
