Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the steering column tilt head. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering shaft (1) from the steering column tilt head assembly.

  4. Check the steering column for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection .
