Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the throttle body. Refer to THROTTLE BODY in Engine Controls.
  2. Remove the PCM. Refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE in Engine Controls-4.2L
  3. Disconnect all harnesses from the engine harness bracket.

  5. Remove the front differential vent hose from the bracket clip.
  6. Remove the engine harness bracket bolt and remove the bracket.

  8. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
  9. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose.

  11. Disconnect the brake hose at the booster.
  12. Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR in Electrical.
  13. Loosen and remove the intake manifold bolts.
  14. Remove the intake manifold.
