NOTE: Definition: Air does not flow correctly from the air distribution outlets.
  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Start engine. Place blower motor switch in OFF position. If blower motor does not operate, go to next step. If blower motor operates, go to TEST C: BLOWER MOTOR ALWAYS ON .
  3. Place blower motor switch in each speed position. If blower motor operates at any speed, go to next step. If blower motor does not operate at any speed, go to TEST D: BLOWER MOTOR INOPERATIVE .
  4. If blower motor operates at desired speeds, go to next step. If blower motor does not operate at desired speeds, go to TEST E: BLOWER MOTOR MALFUNCTION .
  5. Place mode switch in VENT position. Place blower motor switch in maximum speed position. Turn outside air switch to ON position. Turn recirculation switch to ON position. If recirculation air door moves from recirculation to outside air position, go to next step. If recirculation door does not operate as described, go to TEST B: AIR RECIRCULATION MALFUNCTION .
  6. Place mode switch in DEFROST position. If recirculation door moves to outside air position, go to next step. If recirculation door does not move to outside air position, go to step  8.
  7. Place mode switch in each mode position. If air flows from appropriate outlets in each switch position, problem is intermittent. Check for poor electrical connections or damaged wiring. If air does not flow from correct outlets in each switch position, go to VACUUM CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  8. Check for poor connections or connector damage at A/C-heater control panel. Repair or replace as necessary. After repairs are complete, go to step  10. If connections are okay, go to next step.
  9. Replace A/C-heater control panel. See A/C-HEATER CONTROL PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
  10. Operate A/C-heater system to verify repair. If system operates properly, repair is complete. If problem still exists, go to step  2.
