Removal & Installation (Defrost Actuator)

Remove the instrument panel I/P Trim Pad. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Remove the blue vacuum hose and the green vacuum hose from the defroster actuator. See Fig 1. Remove the defroster actuator. Lift the actuator lock tab. Slide off the actuator. See Fig 2. Remove the actuator linkage from the defroster door lever. Squeeze the tabs on the lever in order to remove the linkage. See Fig 3. To install, reverse removal procedure.
