Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Installation

CAUTION:
Do not mix refrigerant oils. Use of incorrect refrigerant oil will cause compressor failure. The CVC compressor uses a low viscosity refrigerant oil, GM P/N 10953486 (Canadian P/N 88900060).
- Add the required amount of new refrigerant oil to a new accumulator. See SPECIFICATIONS . Install the insulator and the bracket to the accumulator.
- Install the accumulator bracket and bolt to the vehicle. See Fig 1. Tighten the accumulator bracket bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install a new seal washer. Install the compressor hose assembly to the accumulator.
- Install the compressor hose assembly nut to the accumulator. Tighten the nut to specification. Install a new seal washer. Install the evaporator hose to the accumulator. Install the evaporator hose nut to the accumulator. Tighten the nut to specification.
- Install the right front fender liner. Lower the vehicle. Recharge the refrigerant system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
