Intake Air Heater Relay: Installation

  1. Install the IAH relay. Install the IAH relay assembly to the housing. Install the IAH relay controller nuts and washers. Tighten the nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the IAH relay controller cover. Install the IAH relay controller. Install the IAH relay controller bolts and tighten to specification. Install the battery cables and nuts to the IAH relay controller. Tighten the nuts to specification.
  3. Reposition the battery cable boots. Connect the IAH relay electrical connector. Connect the engine harness connector.
  4. Install the upper intake manifold cover. Install the upper intake manifold cover to the outlet duct. Tighten the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover to specification. Connect the negative battery cables. Tighten battery cable bolts to specification.

  1. Install the IAH relay. Slide the IAH relay inward to engage it to the glow plug controller housing. Place the glow plug controller onto the studs.
  2. Install the glow plug controller nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the glow plug controller cover.
  3. Install the upper intake manifold cover. Install the upper intake manifold cover to the outlet duct. Tighten the outlet duct clamp at the upper intake manifold cover to specification. Connect the negative battery cables. Tighten battery cable bolts to specification.
