Models With Sunroof

- Perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Place the auxiliary blower motor switch in each speed position. Does the auxiliary blower motor operate in each speed position? If so, check for intermittent and poor connections. If not, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor. Turn ignition on. Set the auxiliary blower motor switch to operate at minimum speed. Connect a test light between the auxiliary blower motor supply circuit and ground. Does the test light illuminate? If so, go to next step. If not, go to step 6.
- Connect a test light between the auxiliary blower motor supply circuit and the auxiliary blower motor ground circuit. Does the test light illuminate? If so, go to step 11. If not, go to next step.
- Check the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step 18. If not, go to step 12.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly connectors. Turn ignition on. Probe the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly ignition 3 voltage circuit with a test light that is connected to ground. Does the test light illuminate? If so, go to next step. If not, go to step 13.
- Probe the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly battery positive voltage circuit with a test light that is connected to ground. Does the test light illuminate? If so, go to next step. If not, go to step 14.
- Set the auxiliary blower motor switch to operate at minimum speed. Probe the auxiliary blower motor low speed control circuit with a test light that is connected to battery positive voltage. Does the test light illuminate? If so, go to step 12. If not, go to next step.
- Check the auxiliary HVAC control assembly ground circuits for an open or high resistance. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step 18. If not, go to next step.
- Inspect auxiliary HVAC control assembly harness connector for poor connections. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step 18. If not, go to step 15.
- Inspect auxiliary blower motor harness connector for poor connections. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step 18. If not, go to step 16.
- Inspect auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly harness connectors for poor connections. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step 18. If not, go to step 17.
- Repair the ignition 3 voltage circuit of the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly. After repairs are complete, go to step 18.
- Repair the battery positive voltage circuit of the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly. After repairs are complete, go to step 18.
- Replace auxiliary HVAC control assembly. See HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (FRONT AUXILIARY) or HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (REAR AUXILIARY) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are complete, go to step 18.
- Replace auxiliary blower motor. See BLOWER MOTOR (AUXILIARY) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are complete, go to step 18.
- Replace auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly. See BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR (AUXILIARY) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are complete, go to next step.
- Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If so, system is okay. If not, go to step 2.
NOTE:
This step tests for auxiliary blower motor operation in any speed setting.
NOTE:
This step determines if the malfunction is in the control side of the system.
NOTE:
Check both the auxiliary HVAC control assembly chassis ground circuit and ground loop circuit.
