Models With Sunroof

  1. Perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
    2. NOTE: This step checks for continuous operation of the auxiliary blower motor.
  2. Turn ignition on. Place the auxiliary blower motor switch to the OFF position. Is the blower motor OFF? If so, check for intermittent and poor connections. If not, go to next step.
    3. NOTE: This step determines if the malfunction is in the auxiliary HVAC control assembly.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect the auxiliary HVAC control assembly. Turn ignition on. Is the blower motor off? If so, go to step  6. If not, go to next step.
    4. NOTE: This step tests for a short to ground in the control side of the system. It is easiest to perform this step by disconnecting the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly connector C1 and the auxiliary HVAC control assembly. Check each auxiliary blower motor speed control circuit for continuity to ground.
  4. Check each auxiliary blower motor speed control circuit between the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly and the auxiliary HVAC control assembly for a short to ground. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step  9. If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly harness connector for poor connections. Did you find and correct the condition? If not, go to step  9. If not, go to step  8.
  6. Inspect auxiliary HVAC control assembly harness connector for poor connections. Did you find and correct the condition? If so, go to step  9. If not, go to next step.
  7. Replace the auxiliary HVAC control assembly. See HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (FRONT AUXILIARY) or HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (REAR AUXILIARY)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are complete, go to step  9.
  8. Replace the auxiliary blower motor resistor assembly. See BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR (AUXILIARY)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are complete, go to next step.
  9. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If so, system is okay. If not, go to step  2.
