WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring seal to enter the refrigerant system.
NOTE:
DO NOT reuse O-ring seals.
- Inspect the new O-ring seal for any sign or cracks, cuts, or damage. Replace if necessary. Remove the cap or tape from the A/C refrigerant components. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant components.
- Lightly coat the new O-ring seal with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. DO NOT reuse O-ring seals. The O-ring seal must be fully seated. See Fig 1.
- Assemble the A/C components. For compression style fittings use a back up wrench on the fitting and tighten the fitting nut to specification. For banjo style fittings install the bolt retaining the banjo type fitting and tighten to specification. See Figure.
