Removal (Auxiliary - Avalanche, Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe & Yukon)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Drain the cooling system. See appropriate GENERAL SERVICING article in GENERAL SERVICING. Squeeze the plastic retainer tabs on the inlet hose. See Fig 1. Pull the connection apart. See Fig 2.
Squeeze the plastic retainer tabs on the outlet hose. Pull the connection apart. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the heater inlet and outlet tees. See Fig 3. Remove both of the right tires.
Remove the right rear wheelhouse panel. Remove the right front wheelhouse panel. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the auxiliary heater core. See Fig 4.
Remove the heater/A/C tubes retaining nut from the stud at the frame. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the clamps. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the vehicle. See Figure.
