Installation (Avalanche, Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon)

NOTE: Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.
  1. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant hose and the A/C refrigerant component. Install the sealing washer to the discharge hose.
  2. Uncap the discharge port of the compressor. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor. See Figure. Install the discharge hose nut. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the sealing washer to the suction hose. Uncap the suction port of the compressor. Connect the suction hose to the compressor. Install the suction hose nut. Tighten to specification.
  4. Install the air baffle. Install the air baffle bolts. See Figure. Tighten Lower the vehicle. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY/EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test the fittings of the component using a Leak Detector.
