Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the evaporator tube nut from the evaporator. Remove the evaporator tube from the evaporator. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove the nut from the evaporator tube. See Fig 2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C low pressure switch. Remove the compressor hose nut from the accumulator.
  3. Remove the compressor hose from the accumulator. Remove the nut from the evaporator fitting. Remove the accumulator bracket nut from the retaining stud. Remove the accumulator. Remove the retaining bracket bolt. Remove the retaining bracket from the accumulator. See Fig 3. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
