Removal & Installation: Accumulator: Installation

NOTE: If replacing the accumulator, add the refrigerant oil to the condenser. See SPECIFICATIONS  for system capacity information.
  1. Install the O-ring seals. See O-RING . Install the retaining bracket to the accumulator. Install the retaining bracket bolt. See Figure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the accumulator. Install the accumulator bracket nut. Install the nut to the evaporator fitting. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator. Install the compressor hose nut to the accumulator. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C low pressure switch. See Figure.
  3. Install the nut to the evaporator tube. See Figure. Tighten to specification. Install the evaporator tube to the evaporator. Install the evaporator tube nut to the evaporator.
  4. Evacuate and recharge the system. See RECOVERY/EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test the fittings of the component using a Leak Detector.
