Idle Air Control Valve: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Bonneville, 2003 Buick Park Avenue, and 2003 Buick LeSabre. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn OFF the ignition. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Remove the electrical connector from the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. See Figure. Remove the 2 IAC valve attaching screws. Remove the IAC valve from the throttle body. Remove the IAC valve "O" ring from the IAC valve. Inspect the "O" ring for cracks or damage. Replace the "O" ring if necessary.
