EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid: Removal

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid harness connector. See Figure or Figure .
  2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid purge pipe and vacuum supply hose. Release the retaining tab on the EVAP canister purge mounting bracket and remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid. Inspect for carbon release exiting the EVAP canister purge solenoid. See EVAP SYSTEM CLEANING .
