Steering Gear: Removal

- Raise vehicle on hoist, and remove wheels and tires. Remove the stabilizer shaft links from the control arms.
- Separate tie rod ends from struts using Separator (J-24319-01). See Figure . Remove intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt from steering gear.
- Support rear of chassis support frame, and remove the stabilizer shaft.
- Remove power steering hoses. Remove steering gear bolts from frame. Remove steering gear through driver side wheel opening.
