Fuel Meter Body Assembly (Except 4.3L): Installation

WARNING:
Verify that the poppet nozzles are firmly seated and locked in their casting sockets, in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. An unlocked or loose poppet nozzle could work loose from it's casting socket and produce a fuel leak.
NOTE:
The fuel meter body assemblies are numbered in order to indicate the poppet nozzle order.
- Install fuel meter body into bracket on lower intake manifold. Ensure fuel meter body is locked into place. Install poppet nozzles into proper lower intake manifold casting sockets. Verify injectors are firmly seated and locked into the correct casting sockets.
- Install upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD . Tighten the fuel fill cap. Connect negative battery cable and tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Turn ignition switch to on position for 2 seconds. Turn ignition switch to off position for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to on position. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as necessary.
