Filler Tube: Installation

  1. Remove the caps from the fuel and vent holes in the fuel tank. Install the fuel fill pipe and vent hose to the tank. Tighten the fuel fill and vent hose clamps at the tank to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Connect the fuel feed and pressure balance rear pipes. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS . Install negative battery cable and tighten battery cable bolt to specification.
  3. Turn ignition switch to on position for 2 seconds. Turn ignition switch to off position for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to on position. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as necessary.
  4. Install engine sight shield. See ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD  under MISCELLANEOUS.


  1. Remove the cap from the opening on the fuel tank. Install the fuel fill pipe to the vehicle and tank. Tighten the fuel tank fill pipe clamp to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the rear axle vent hose to the clip on the fuel fill pipe bracket. Install the chassis harness ground strap and fuel tank ground strap. Install the fuel tank ground strap bolt to specification. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Install the fuel tank filler housing. Install the fuel tank filler housing to fuel tank fill pipe screws to specification. Install the fuel tank filler housing to body screws, and retainer. Tighten the fuel tank filler housing to body screws to specification.
