Removal (4.3L)

  1. Remove the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. See AIR CLEANER RESONATOR OUTLET DUCT .
  2. Remove air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud. See Fig 1. Disconnect accelerator control cable from throttle body. Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle body (if equipped).
  3. Remove 2 accelerator control cable routing bracket-to-throttle body retaining nuts. See Figure. Remove accelerator control cable routing bracket with cables attached and position aside.
  4. Remove accelerator control cable bracket-to-throttle body and intake manifold studs/nuts. Remove accelerator control cable bracket with cables attached and position aside.
  5. Disconnect harness connectors from Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. See Fig 2. Remove throttle body-to-intake manifold studs. Remove throttle body. See Fig 3. Remove throttle body flange gasket and discard.
